We were all in elementary school once... Even me!
Welcome! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am beginning my 20th year as a teacher at Madison Elementary School. Last year I started teaching second grade and became a sixth grade teacher midyear due to changes in the population of students. All of my previous 18 years of teaching have been at the first grade level. I am excited and am looking forward to the challenges fifth grade has to offer and I am especially pumped to get the chance to work with Mrs. Bryant once again! I am a native of "The Valley" and the daughter of two retired Kennett teachers. I attended school at Conway Elementary, Kennett Junior and Senior High School and graduated in 1989, earning my diploma and the prestigious Kennett Cup. In years past I achieved some notoriety for my ability to play basketball. I earned a basketball scholarship to the University of New Hampshire where I played basketball all 4 years and was a tri-captain of the team my senior year, all the while pursuing a degree in mathematics. In the spring of 1993, I earned my degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNH with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I continued my education with graduate work at UNH and pursued a Master’s degree in Education. As part of the degree program I interned a full year in a first grade classroom in Barrington, NH under the direction of my cooperating teacher, Mrs. Farmer. I completed my Master’s Degree in 1995 and began teaching in Madison the next year. I now reside in Madison with my husband of 14 years, Mike, my daughter Sierra, son Aiden, dog Emerson and 2 cats Twinkle and Kent. My hobbies are Zumba, crocheting, making cards, playing computer games, but most of all I enjoy spending time with my family. Debra Parsons (603) 367-4642 (ext. 127) [email protected] |
